What you'll do

Your journey back in time begins when you arrive at the Acropolis, your guide leading the way as you explore the ancient citadel's remains of monumental buildings, such as the Theatre of Dionysus, the birthplace of Greek drama, and the Temple of Athena Nike, dedicated to the goddess of victory. As you navigate the site, your guide will weave tales of the legendary figures and deities associated with these sacred places, deepening your understanding of the rich tapestry of Greek mythology.

Your discovery walk will also take you to the Ionic Erechtheion, known for its caryatids—sculpted female figures serving as architectural supports—and the grand entrance of the Propylaea, setting the stage for your approach to the famed Parthenon. Standing atop the Acropolis hill, the Parthenon is a testament to the architectural brilliance and cultural achievements of ancient Greece. Your guide will illuminate the significance of these structures, explaining how Athens rose to prominence in the fifth century BCE and became one of the greatest cities in the ancient world.

The Acropolis was closing early the day we were there, so we didn't have as much time as we would have liked up there, but it was fine! Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable!
