What you'll do

Your Ægir BryggeriPub (BreweryPub) experience in Flåm begins in this atmospheric brewpub. Inspired by Norse mythology, it's designed to resemble a traditional Viking longhouse with wooden interiors and a cozy fireplace. The evening centers around the "Viking Plank," a five-course meal expertly paired with five distinct Ægir beers, offering a taste of the Viking era with a modern twist.

Your dinner will be served in the upstairs restaurant, where you'll find a tall fireplace adding to the traditional ambience. The meal includes dishes like smoked reindeer, shellfish soup, pork shank, and a decadent dark chocolate ganache cake. You'll enjoy light and dark beers that perfectly complement each course, enhancing the dining experience with their distinctive notes of hops, malt, and herbs.

The locally brewed beers accompany each dish and are also incorporated into marinades and sauces, giving each bite a distinctive taste. While adults enjoy the beer pairings, those aged under 18 can enjoy non-alcoholic drinks, and smaller meals are available from the al a carte menu for children under 12. Please note, if opting for the 1:30 pm "Viking Plank" lunch, you'll be served in Furukroa Café next door—a colorful, modern, and cozy café.

They brought us to our seats upstairs right on time. The waiter was so helpful, especially when we had questions about the content of the food (I am lactose intolerant and was wary of the soup)-all was GREAT. And since we don't drink beer, he gave us a locally brewed hard cider-what luck!! The food was outstanding. And it was wonderful that the restaurant was night next to the hotel. After a long day of having fun, we were exhausted and the small distance made this easy. Read more

The dinner was more of a beer tasting than a Viking experience.
There is no explanation of how the dinner of beer relate to the Viking era.
The food tasted great, but calling this a Viking experience is a bit of a stretch.
