What you'll do

Join your private "Mary Poppins" guide and enter the gates of the Tower of London, which has stood guard over the south bank of the River Thames since 1066. Encompassing over 12 acres (5 ha), 30 buildings, and 20 defensive towers, there's a lot of ground to cover for younger visitors—that's why this carefully crafted, two-hour experience helps you focus on the highlights while keeping the kids entertained with a thrilling scavenger hunt.

Led by your guide's entertaining storytelling (and a custom activity booklet), the whole family will follow a series of clues and solve playful riddles as they learn about the site's almost 1,000 years of history in a digestible, engaging way. You might dash through the White Tower to see the Royal Armoury's swords, weapons, and shields, then follow the trail into the nearby Medieval Palace, where the 13th-century households of Henry III and Edward I have been recreated in remarkable detail.

You'll also stop by the aviary to have a chat with the Tower ravens, and get a glimpse of the country's greatest treasures at the Crown Jewels exhibit. By the end of the visit, you'll have solved the mystery, found the treasure, and soaked up plenty of fascinating history along the way!

(Please note: lines to see the Crown Jewels can be long, particularly during holidays and summer months. If you're visiting during one of these times, be prepared to queue, or chat with your guide about skipping this section and focusing on one of the Tower's other highlights.)
