Historic boutique hotel with two swimming pools, serene yards, and rooms styled with Venetian and Ottoman details

Overview

Experience the rich history of Rethymno in the Rimondi Boutique Hotels, located in the city's vibrant Venetian quarter. Local attractions like the Rimondi Fountain, Neratze Mosque and Minaret, and Lady of Angels Church are all just one to two minutes by foot. Soak in the panoramic views from the Venetian Fortezza Castle, five minutes away walking, before sampling Crete's famous cuisine at any number of restaurants in the Old Town and waterfront.

The hotel is comprised of two buildings, one of which dates back to the 16th century. Venetian and Ottoman styles make up these 33 rooms, some of which include original elements like arched stone walls, which add a feeling of history to your stay. Some options include private gardens and jacuzzis, and larger rooms with sofa beds are available for bigger parties.

Rimondi Boutique Hotels offers a tranquil space to relax, as guests can enjoy its gardens and swimming pools. Massages and body treatments are available, and babysitting services can be booked to help take care of the family. History and comfort meet in this hotel, where guests can feel the atmosphere of Rethymno's rich past in a modern way.

I really loved my stay at Rimondi! The hotel is spread across three different buildings (all within walking distance from each other). Each building has its own character, and some really nice amenities, including two pools, a courtyard where breakfast is served, and an on-site champagne bar in the evenings.

For an elevated experience, I'd especially recommend Rimondi Estate, the newest building, where you can book a poolside suite or one with a private outdoor Jacuzzi. The service was another highlight, with nice touches like welcome drinks, snacks, and a handwritten welcome card.

The location is great for exploring Rethymno's Old Town on foot. One thing to keep in mind is parking: there isn't convenient on-site parking, so you'll need to use a nearby lot and walk to the hotel (~3-5 min on foot).

Overall, this is a property I'd happily recommend for an elevated, comfortable stay in Rethymno!

Authenticity & Character
I loved that the hotel is spread across three historic buildings, each with its own character. There's something for every kind of traveler!
Location
Right in the middle of Rethymno's Old Town, making it easy to explore the historic streets, shops, and restaurants on foot. The hotel also feels tucked away from the busy nightlife, staying quiet well into the evening.
Staff
The staff made me feel really welcome, with nice touches upon arrival and help with luggage.
Cleanliness & Comfort
The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cozy mattresses and nice touches like robes and slippers for each guest. I also appreciated the daily housekeeping and the locally-branded bath products.
